A Tale of Two Teams

A Tale of Two Teams

Zoe Emmett3 Oct 2022 - 17:37

Wildcat's U7s knock it out of the park again!

Wildcats under 7's travelled to Wigan St Cuthbert's for their penultimate game of the season. Their match was literally a game of two halves with enough players on both sides to field two teams.

Team 1 was made up of Chase, Chloe, Owen, Theo and Tyler.

Significant injuries before the game were incurred when Theo lost a tooth & Owen has a wobbly tooth. This was unfortunately a tale that would continue throughout game.

Cuthberts started strong with some fast & elusive runners but our Wildcats kept on fighting. They developed as the game went on making more good runs & tackles towards the end of the game.

All players took a knock at some point in the game with Chloe taking a bang on the head and Tyler taking a ball to the face but they both powered through.

Chloe came back stronger and immediately made a try saving tackle resulting in taking home the Magic Moment Award as well as claiming the Opposition Player of the Match.

A consistent game from Chase meant he gained yards and made some good tackles to earn him both the Coaches Player of the Match and Spectators Award.

Team 2 was made up of Arabella, Belle, Ben, Jack and Joshua.

As the game unfolded all players made some excellent runs resulting in the Wildcats finding the try line on more than one occasion.

Josh and Ben used all their power, whilst Arabella and Jack used some skillful side steps to leave the Cuthbert's defence behind. Belle also found some space to score her first try.

Coaches Player of the Match was awarded to Jack
Magic Moment went to Belle. Spectators Award to the duo of Arabella and Joshua & finally opposition Player of the Match went to Ben for displaying some excellent resilience.

Next week sees the team playing the final match of their first season when they welcome Ashton to Wilsons Playing Fields. We're looking forward to seeing the team work we've come to expect from the Wildcats Under 7's, and I'm sure their best performance of the season!
